Coltharp asked for 80,000 bricks to be placed in 40 crates, each weighing 22 kilograms, sent from a brick company in Salt Lake through the post office.Coltharp reasoned, shipping by mail is the cheapest way to ship bricks for building construction materials. Because of Coltharp's actions, the US Post Office banned the delivery of postal items exceeding 90 kg in a day since 1916.
